Rekindling Cayman’s Cultural Capital
To restore and promote the societal values, principles and practices upon which the Caymanian identity was built, and ensure they are passed on to the next generation. Among those values are belief in God, the importance of family, strong character, ethics and good stewardship of the resources that have been entrusted to us as individuals and as a community.
In so doing, we will fulfill our societal responsibility and leave an inheritance of cultural capital that will help to strengthen the social fabric of the Cayman Islands and keep it strong, from generation to generation.
Who are we?
The Young Caymanian Leaders Foundation ( YCLF) is a non-profit organization developed by caring people who love their community and are concerned about its leadership and the development of today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders.
Why do we do it?
There are a lot of voices out there and those voices have an influence on our youth. We believe it is critical to highlight those who strive to lead by example and who strive to live their lives with a focus on community, family, work ethic and good stewardship of the resources we have been given .
Our Youth need a clear understanding of right and wrong, and the values we uphold lead to a happy, healthy and productive life. These values also provide a sense of purpose and point the way in moments of fragility, crisis and indecision. They drive relationships by providing a solid foundation for the way we value others and ourselves.
